Notice of Itinerary Adjustment Due to Jasper Wildfire


Due to the impact of the Jasper wildfire, Jasper Town, Maligne Lake, Maligne Canyon, and Athabasca Falls are currently closed.


The Columbia Icefield, Banff area, Yoho National Park, Icefields Parkway, and major attractions like Banff Town, Moraine Lake, and Lake Louise are currently open and accessible. The affected itinerary has been adjusted as follows:


Original Itinerary:

Day 1: Calgary → Crowfoot Glacier → Bow Lake (20 min) → Peyto Lake (30 min) → Icefields Parkway → Lunch (on your own, optional Western-style box, 60 min) → Ice Explorer, Skywalk (on your own, 150 min) → Athabasca Falls (30 min) → Jasper, hotel stay.

Day 2: Jasper → Medicine Lake → Maligne Lake (optional cruise, 90 min) → Lunch (on your own, optional at Maligne Lake Historical Chalet, 60 min) → Maligne Canyon (30 min) → The Crossing → Banff/Calgary.


Alternate Itinerary:

Day 1: Calgary/Banff → Banff → Bow Lake (20 min) → Peyto Lake (30 min) → Icefields Parkway → Lunch (on your own, optional Western-style lunch box, 60 min) → Ice Explorer & Skywalk (optional, 150 min) → Check-in at a Calgary hotel.

Day 2: Calgary/Banff → Marble Canyon (60 min) → Vermilion Lakes Viewpoint (15 min) → Banff Town (lunch, 75 min) → Cave and Basin National Historic Site (free entry, 45 min) → Lake Minnewanka (optional boat tour, 90 min) → Two Jack Lake (20 min), hotel check-in or transfer to the airport.


Effective Period:

The alternate itinerary applies to tours departing from August 2, 2024, involving the IJ itinerary. If the wildfire is controlled, we will revert to the original itinerary without further notice. This change will no longer apply once the situation is resolved.
