Cancellation PolicyHere is our cancellation policy: The reservation total (total amount) is 30% nonrefundable after booking. The reservation total is 50% nonrefundable 36-60 days prior to check-in, and nonrefundable within 35 days.
We offer up to 2 reschedules for a USD$100 fee each as long as they are being requested at least 50 days prior to check in. Within 50 days of check in, reservations are unable to be rescheduled.
Due to the strict nature of our cancellation policy, we HIGHLY suggest procuring trip insurance prior to traveling, and recommend TRAVELGUARD. We will never file a claim on your behalf, but are always happy to provide the supporting documentation for you to file your claim. Please note that cancelled flights are not an exception to our cancellation policy.
Additional Info-For UTV/snow machine tours: Drivers must be 16 years and up, and riders must be 8 years and up. Riders are not permitted on White Mountains tours.
-For dogsledding: Children under 4 can sit in a lap and are free of charge.
-Dogsledding and machine activities not recommended for those who are pregnant or elderly.
-Operating as an off-grid lodge in Northern Alaska, there are occasionally items beyond our control including inclement weather, acts of God, and unforeseen circumstances. Due to this, Westar Travel reserves the right to cancel or modify reservations. Should Westar Travel cancel or modify a reservation, the changes will be refunded completely at time of change.
-In case of force majeure including but not limited to weather, traffic accidents, etc. our company has the right to modify or cancel the itinerary.
-It is strongly recommended that you purchase travel insurance for your personal benefit.
-Westar Travel is not responsible for any transportation cancellations or delays, climate change, or any other travel safety issues within the trip that are caused by circumstances not under our company’s control.
The standard shuttles included in the package pick up between 9:30-10:00am or 3:00-3:30pm from the airport or any major hotel in the Fairbanks area. The returning shuttle depart Basecamp at 11am or 4:30pm. It does take about an hour to get back to the airport or hotel.
We have private shuttle upgrades one way for US$40 per person 1-3 people, or US$160 total for 4-6 people. Private shuttles to Basecamp can be scheduled on an odd hour. Private shuttles to Fairbanks can be scheduled on an even hour. Private shuttles can wait up to a half hour.
Breakfast is included in all the packages. Lunch and dinner can be bought separately through the restaurant, Latitude 65. It usually comes to $100 per person per day.

The front desk sells some snack items and you are welcome to bring your own food if you’re able to stop by a grocery store before our shuttle pick up. Every room has a water boiler, mini fridge, and coffee station. There is just no microwave available on property.
